A: The Schooner America 2.0 was built in 2011 and started operating out of Key West in December 2011. Q: Tell us a little bit about your business. A: We regularly operate 1.5-hour day sails along with 2 -hour sunset sails and can accommodate to any private charters. Day sails tend to be lighter on numbers and include water and soda. Sunset sails include some light hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and champagne. All trips feature our professional, friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable crew. Q: What’s an interesting fact about your business most people don’t know? A: We are a vertically-integrated passenger vessel business. Our vessels are all built in-house in Albany, NY. Greater Key West Chamber of Commerce Membership Spotlight Q: As someone doing business in the Key West area, how does the chamber help you? A: The Key West Chamber of Commerce is a great tool for marketing our business. Additionally, the networking opportunities through the Key West Chamber of Commerce help to create stronger relationships with the local community. Since our business is seasonal and the Schooner America 2.0 spends her summers operating out of Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, New York, we depend on our local connections to provide this unique experience. Q: Do you have any advice for new business owners? A: Make friends with your neighbors and go wherever the wind takes you! Q: When you’re not working, where in Key West do you like to spend your time? A: We enjoy spending time at Fort Zach to watch the Schooner America 2.0 sail by during sunset!
