How to obtain a marriage license for a Key West wedding
To obtain a marriage license to marry in Key West, couples can visit any County Clerk Office in the state of Florida, and speak with the Clerk of the Court. Marriage licenses must be used within 60 days of it being issued.
Out-of-state visitors looking to get married have no waiting period for a marriage license. This is regardless if one or both of the individuals are not a resident.
If both individuals reside in Florida, a no waiting period will only apply if they have previously attended a premarital course through an authorized Florida provider. Documentation of completion of this course must be present at the time of the application. If a Florida couple has not completed this course, there will be a three day waiting period before a marriage ceremony is permitted.

Additional requirements for obtaining a marriage license:
- Both individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
- Both individuals will need valid photo identification. This can be a state ID card, a passport, or a driver’s license.
- Both individuals will need to provide social security numbers.
- Fee: $86
- Florida residents that have taken the premarital course are eligible for a discounted fee of $61.
- If applicable, proof of divorce or death of previous partner is required.
