Truman Waterfront Farmers Market Shifts Weekly Hours to 1–6 PM to Better Serve Shoppers and Families1/6/2026
Key West, FL — The Truman Waterfront Farmers Market is adjusting its weekly hours from 2:00–7:00 PM to 1:00–6:00 PM, a one-hour shift earlier that better aligns with shopping patterns, and how the community uses Truman Waterfront Park.
Most vendors are fully set up and ready to serve shortly after noon, making the earlier opening ideal for lunch, relaxed shopping, and unhurried browsing. The updated hours allow visitors to enjoy the market earlier in the afternoon while still preserving time for sunset and evening plans throughout Key West. In addition to fresh produce from Homestead, an extensive selection of plants and orchids, artisan cheeses, breads, spreads, nuts and dried fruits, honey, pickles, desserts, local seafood, and butcher meats, the market offers a robust shopping experience. Local artists and small mom-and-pop businesses feature arts and crafts, handmade jewelry, clothing and accessories, bath and body products, pet treats, and specialty items unique to the Florida Keys. A rotating lineup of prepared food vendors and food trucks adds to the experience, with Indian, Mediterranean, BBQ, seafood, Argentinian specialties, Mexican favorites, Colombian empanadas and traditional dishes, hot dogs and hamburgers, mini donuts, boozy pops, fresh-pressed juices, and a popular coffee truck available any given week. Set within Truman Waterfront Park, the market functions as a true community gathering space. Families appreciate the children’s playground and splash pad, while others enjoy shaded green areas, the workout circuit, harbor views, dog park and a local favorite sunset stop before transitioning into the evening. Just steps away, the USCGC Ingham Maritime Museum, a Historic WWII–Vietnam War cutter and National Historic Landmark, is open for tours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Nearby, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Eco-Discovery Center is open Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with free admission. Getting to the market remains convenient for both locals and visitors. Adjacent parking is available at Truman Waterfront Park and nearby city lots, making access easy for shoppers, families, and those carrying market finds. Residents with a valid residential parking permit receive up to four hours of free parking once per day in designated city lots, including Truman Waterfront. While the Duval Loop bus service is no longer operating, the City of Key West now offers Key West Rides, an on-demand shared ride service accessible through the Key West Rides app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. By wrapping up at 6:00 PM, the market leaves ample time to enjoy sunset, visit nearby attractions, or head to Duval Street for dinner, live music, and nightlife—making the farmers market an easy and enjoyable part of a full Key West day. The Truman Waterfront Farmers Market, a Daily Plan-it produced event, takes place weekly every Thursday, except Thanksgiving, and is free to attend. Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome.
