MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Parks and Beaches is introducing free Tai Chi–Yang Style classes at Big Pine Key Community Park starting Tuesday, Jan. 6. The gentle, low-impact program, adapted for Westerners by Master Moy Lin Shin, is open to all ages and skill levels.

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m. at the park’s second-floor activity room, located at 31009 Atlantis Road, Big Pine Key. Participants only need to sign a quick waiver to join. No experience is necessary.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to enjoy a relaxing, meditative movement practice that supports balance, flexibility, and overall well-being,” said Parks and Beaches Director John Allen. “We hope residents and visitors will take advantage of this free resource at one of our beautiful county parks.”

The practice is designed to promote relaxation and enhance physical and mental wellness. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. The program also includes access to curated free online resources for continued learning at home.

For additional information, contact Joyce Dittrich at 540-797-4927 or email [email protected]. To see all the free programs happening at county parks, visit www.ParksAndBeaches.Fun.
