MONROE COUNTY VETERANS AFFAIRS CELEBRATES LOCAL HEROES LEAVING ON HONOR FLIGHT EXPERIENCE

​MONROE COUNTY, FL – On Friday, several Monroe County Veterans took to the skies for an unforgettable journey to Washington, D.C. as part of the latest Honor Flight. Monroe County Veterans Affairs staff, including James Carey, Cody Dickerson, and Brett Dehanas, helped wave them on their way.
 
The Honor Flight experience provides Veterans with the opportunity to visit the national memorials built in their honor. Monroe County Veterans Affairs helped coordinate participation for several local Veterans to participate in the trip.
 
“We are proud to support our Veterans as they experience this emotional and patriotic journey,” said Monroe County Community Services Director Cathy Crane. “It’s truly an honor that they can visit the monuments that symbolize their service and sacrifice.”
