MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Mayor Michelle Lincoln and the Board of County Commissioners proclaimed September 2026 as Hunger Action Month, recognizing the ongoing need to address hunger and food insecurity throughout the community.
Feeding South Florida has served Monroe County since 1981 by connecting residents with nutritious food, resources, education, and other support. The organization also works to address the broader challenges associated with hunger and poverty. Approximately one million people across South Florida face hunger, and Monroe County is encouraging residents to support Feeding South Florida and its efforts to help individuals and families in need. “Hunger Action Month is an opportunity to recognize the organizations and community partners working every day to help our neighbors,” said Mayor Michelle Lincoln. “We encourage residents to learn more, get involved, and support efforts that provide food and resources to those who need them.” To learn more about Feeding South Florida, visit https://feedingsouthflorida.org/ Comments are closed.
