KEY WEST — Families are invited to celebrate Halloween at the Truman Waterfront Farmers Market on Thursday, October 30, when the market transforms into a safe, family-friendly Halloween party from 4 to 7 p.m.
Kids can trick-or-treat among market vendors, explore the City of Key West Transit’s popular Haunted Bus, and enjoy bounce houses from Four Star Rentals, games, and plenty of sweet treats. Key 93.7 – The Keys’ Yacht Rock Station will be on-site spinning fun Halloween tunes, and H&R Block will hand out free treat bags. There will also be Halloween activities hosted by Keep Key West Beautiful, Samuel’s House, and the Key West Women’s Club. Parents can relax with dinner, drinks, and dessert while their little ghosts and goblins dance under the sunset sky. From 4 pm until shortly after sunset at 7 pm, the market will be filled with laughter, costumes, and plenty of Halloween fun.
The evening will feature free bounce houses from Four Star Rentals, kid’s games, a Halloween music dance party, and a tempting variety of food, drinks, and sweet treats. The City of Key West – Key West Transit will bring its popular “Haunted Bus” for brave visitors to explore, and H&R Block will hand out free treat bags to children. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to picnic and enjoy the park, splash pad, and playground. Local businesses, organizations, and civic groups are invited to secure complimentary space to set up a tent or table as a trick-or-treat stop, hand out candy, or provide free activities and giveaways. Instead, the Black Friday Shopping Extravaganza will be held November 29 from 10 am to 6 pm at the beautiful Truman Waterfront mole by the USCGC Ingham Maritime Museum in Key West. The open-air bazar is hosted by the Truman Waterfront Farmers Market, the Key West Artisan Market and Shop Mom & Pop Key West as an alternative to online and big box stores. One-of-a-kind gifts, unique handmade items, exquisite art and awesome people along with delicious culinary delights, yummy beverages and the views you won't find at any mall make this a can't miss shopping event.
Shoppers can expect fine art and crafts, jewelry, candles, soaps & skin care, sea glass, suncatchers, fine Turkish textiles, hemp products, leather purses, hats, clothing, beach towels, wood signs, living towers and many other creative gift ideas. The Key West Artisan Market is a unique open air bazaar filled with artists, authors, chef-made cuisine, craftspeople, performers and fresh produce representing diversity, creativity, ingenuity and locally made products. Participants must live and also create/curate in the Keys in order to qualify. Each show offers a different theme and features one or more local charities. The 2024/2025 season offers 22 dates between October and April. There is also a special Fantasy Market Friday, October 25 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Conch Republic Seafood Company/631 Green Street and a huge Black Friday show, November 29 from 10 am to 6 pm at the Truman Waterfront Park. The Key West Fire Department anticipates being on hand with a ladder truck for the kids to explore as well as The City of Key West-Key West Transit's 'haunted bus' for kids of all ages to take a walk through. The Market opens at 2 pm and the party starts at 4 pm and ends shortly after sunset at 7 pm. Parking is free for locals with a residential sticker. Bikes, ride share and the Duval Loop are encouraged. Local businesses and organizations are invited to register for complimentary space to set up a table or tent to be a trick or treat stop for the kids and hand out candy, provide free activities and/or give-aways.
