SBA DISASTER ASSISTANCE ON BP OIL SPILL
SBA Administrator Karen Mills announced the
agency is making low-interest loans available to Florida small
businesses near the Gulf of Mexico suffering financial losses
following the April 20 Deepwater BP oil spill that shut down
commercial and recreational fishing along the state's southeast
coast.
Attached you will find the
SBA announcement
letter as well as their
fact sheet on the disaster loan process.
PLEASE NOTE that this fact sheet was published just prior to the
declaration of Monroe County as a disaster area and Monroe County is
now eligible for in this SBA program.
The Chamber’s Executive Vice President, Virginia
Panico, met with BP representatives earlier today and they
strongly
suggest that businesses do not delay in submitting their claims and
to get the process started now.
